Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to developing and enhancing current and future leaders of Montgomery County. LMC has helped to shape amazing leaders in our community who serve as nonprofit board members, political leaders, committee chairs, CEOs and much more. LMC has been an incredible experience. It's rare to find something that pushes you to think differently about your community while also connecting you with such a strong group of peers. Coming into the program, I thought there was no way 47 people would be able to get along, work together, learn, and grow their leadership skills without conflicts. I thought, all of our personalities (A-type) would clash and that it would be a battle of who was better. Man, I was wrong! LMC helped us bring the walls down and the rest just flowed. Everyone had open minds and open hearts; we got close and grew so much. Now, I have 47 leaders in our community as colleagues and friends, that without LMC I would've never met. Also, LMC allowed me to learn things about the County that even after living in Montgomery County for 24 years I never knew about.

As an Aggie, we have a saying: "From the outside looking in, you can't understand it; from the inside looking out, you can't explain it."

That's exactly how Leadership Montgomery County feels. When I applied (thanks to some encouragement from past members), I really had no idea how much it would add to my life. I've gained a deeper appreciation for what makes Montgomery County so special, along with so many opportunities to learn, grow, and connect.

But the best part, hands down, has been the people! This group of big- hearted, servant-minded leaders (who are also a whole lot of fun) has truly been a gift. Class of 2026 has my heart... BEST CLASS EVER!

The 9 months that I was able to spend going through the LMC program was an unforgettable experience. I was able to see growth in myself in areas that I didn't anticipate growing in. The bond that was forged with my classmates I feel will be carried into the years to come. I'm grateful for the experience and hope that I had at least a fraction of the impact on those in and around LMC that it had on me.

The LMC Leadership Master Class is an incredible value from an educational and developmental perspective. The Master Class is a fairly different experience from the Signature Class; while we were able to learn so much about Montgomery County as a whole from a thematic perspective, the Master Class really allowed me to dive into how these different aspects of governance impact the different precincts of the county. I saw parts of and met folks around the county that were completely new to me. As if this experience weren't enough, the newly added leadership training partnership with the Texas A&M Center for Executive Development added a development component that both pushed me and helped me grow as a professional. These two different components make for class days that were packed with great information and opportunities for growth.
